People throughout Virginia drive for miles each day to go to work and carry out other basic activities such as taking kids to school, and unfortunately, these routine outings often turn into serious auto accidents. If you regularly drive a motorcycle, then the risk of injury may be significantly greater.
A motorcycle accident in Lynchburg, Virginia, recently hospitalized two cyclists after they and a car crashed into each other. According to police, the motorcycle was in the passing lane and collided with a car as the driver of the larger vehicle attempted a turn onto another road. The car's driver was not injured, but the two motorcyclists, a husband and wife, suffered serious injuries and were initially said to be in critical condition.
The man’s condition was later upgraded to stable, though treatment was postponed for the woman until her swelling went down.
Police reconstructed the crash later in the week and presented their findings to the local commonwealth attorney, who will determine if charges should be filed. The injured motorcyclists may also have to consider their options for receiving compensation for damages, including medical bills and lost time from work.
The husband on the bike is reportedly the owner of a business in Forest, Virginia, and his injured wife also works at the company.
